Seeing Through a Lens
A view from in front of and behind the camera
I took up photography as a junior in college after taking a black and white photography class. Since then, whenever I travel, whether locally or abroad, I carry my camera with me. Somehow I learned early on to view a scene as if I was looking at the image in the camera's viewfinder. That skill helped me to see not just a vista, event or person, but a story waiting to be told. Most of my photographs have a story to go with them. I want the viewer to know that story. When possible I also want the viewer to know the "back story", how I arrived in that location and what it took to take the photograph.
